This article aims to show how concepts linked to the notion of Human Security can be used to observe and understand gender-based violence. Since the 1990s, research on gender-based violence against women has proliferated in Mexico, and the phenomenon has been addressed from a wide range of perspectives, enriching the field. This reflection aims to contribute to that development by examining a tool that has been largely overlooked in gender studies: Human Security. Exploring its conceptual contributions not only offers new ways of understanding violence against women but also sparks fresh debates within the field of Human Security itself.
