Abstract

The relationship between Philosophy and Geography, as set out in Amalia Boyer's essay, Towards a Critique of Geographical Reason, has posed the challenge of defining the meaning of critique, of reason and, of course, of establishing the concept of geography. This concept has undergone a constant evolution from its Greco-Latin origins, through the institutionalization of scientific disciplines and, of course, its incorporation into contemporary discussions. Therefore, the aim is to establish the meaning of each of the conceptual frameworks of her proposal in order to deepen the search for an epistemological structure for what has been called geophilosophy. Thereby, this research proposes to resolve the interrelationships that the aforementioned concepts have in themselves and thus propose their articulation in a framework of relations of what Amalia Boyer takes for granted and which forms the background of what is understood by the conceptualization of geographical reason.
