We seek to rescue the character of Neus (Nieves) Espresate Xirau (1934-2017), who managed to significantly influence the political and cultural processes of her time, through the publishing house ERA, of which she was founder and director, for more than forty years. To this end, we analyze her and her family's arrival in Mexico as part of the reception of the Spanish Republicans in the 1930s and, subsequently, the relationship she established with the main Mexican cultural circles in the 1960s, when she founded ERA. This publishing house has acquired an independent and critical character of the Mexican authoritarian regime. Likewise, her work is highlighted, and, despite developing in a predominantly male sphere, she managed to have her published works distributed in several Latin American and European countries.
